bridge cycling challenge

Bridge Stopmake a bridge part of the ride story

Bridge Stop is a location photo challenge that asks you to show a bicycle near or on a bridge. The structure and bike need to share the frame clearly, whether you photograph an arch, deck, railing or a wider bridge view discovered along the route.

The mission

How to validate Bridge Stop

  1. What is the objective?

Find a bridge along the route and document the bike in relation to it.

  2. Proof

Submit one image showing the required pairing. A side view can establish the bridge more clearly than a tightly cropped shot from its deck.

  3. Completion rule

A railing fragment with no context may be ambiguous. Include enough of the span or structure for the bridge to be understood.

Photo must show a bike near or on a bridge.

Tips and detailsWhy try it, practical tips, safety and questions

The context

Why try this quest?

Bridges create natural moments of transition. Looking for one can also reveal a waterway, railway or change in landscape that a direct ride might pass unnoticed.

Practical tips

  • Use repeating railings or the bridge line to lead toward the bicycle.
  • Keep the bike away from the edge of the frame so it remains unmistakable.
  • Choose a quieter viewpoint if stopping on the bridge would obstruct others.

Questions about this quest

Must I photograph the bicycle on the bridge?
No. The rule allows the bike to be near or on the bridge, as long as both are visible.
What kind of bridge can I use?
The source rule does not restrict the bridge type. Focus on making the structure and bicycle easy to identify.
